hey guys, i\'ve had Lily for a month now and she has adjusted really well to me and also me to her. Everyday I pick her up out of her cage and let her play for a few hours on the floor and during that time i will take the chance to clean her cage out if it is messy. Well, the other day I went to pick her up and she kept turning really fast while I was trying to and she bit me pretty hard.

I thought it was pretty strange so I left her alone for a while. The next day, I went to take her out again and she tried to bite me again (i was too quick for her this time) and made some grunting noises. She will also do this to me now when I use some toilet paper to pick up some litter that she threw out and is on her cage floor.

She only started this recently and has NEVER shown any aggression before now. Does anyone have any idea why she is doing this and what I can do to help her get over it?

just to add, she doesnt try to bite me if i stick my hand in to pet her or to take her food bowl to refill it, only if it looks like im going to pick her up or have my hand near her belly area.
Sounds to me that Lily\'s hormones are raging. It is not uncommon for does to get testy when the urge to breed has come upon them. This is one of the reasons why rabbits kept exclusively for pets should be spayed. Another reason is that the risk of ovarian or uterine cancers are eliminated entirely.
