It is fairly mild here at about 15 degrees but my rabbit is shivering, while the other one is not. We had her in for a while before and the shivering subsided a bit when wrapped up in a big towel but not much. We are going to bring her inside tonight and keep her warm in a box, but would like to know if this is a symptom of anything else and should we be concerned? She is moulting quite heavily which I understand is normal at this point, but she still has plenty of fur left. Thanks in advance.
I would be concerned. Rabbits normally have no trouble keeping warm (as long as they are kept out of drafts). How old is your rabbit? Have you had a sudden change in weather? Severe molting, in this case, may or may not be \"normal\". While rabbits normally go through a change of coat once or twice a year, frequent or excessive shedding can be a result of stress or parasitic infestation.

hi, thanks for the reply. We got up this morning and found that the rabbit was ok, but at the moment is not eating very well. I\'ve seen one of the other threads about hairballs, and we think that ours has that now. We can only wait til tomorrow now to see if the rabbit is eating or is better.
I think the shivering was just due to the molting and the change in temperature, but thanks anyway.
Hi there im not sure if it,s because of the molting off the fur or the temature but i would keep an eye on how its eating and drinking if its not eating the same then i,d take to the vet to be on the safe side.

;)Good Luck diane442
as long as the rabbit\'s ears on the inside are warm and it\'s bobby tail is warm it is ok
