my bunny took to litter box training very well in her cage, so i wanted to get her ready to start gradually adjusting to life outside of the cage.
i take her into the hallway for about an hour or two a day and shut all the doors with the litter box in one corner. she does fine with using it, but i\'ve noticed that she will pull up carpet fibers and try to eat them like grass. i cant seem to get her to stop doing it and if i pick her up to stop her, she will clamp onto the carpet and i have to yank her away from it to loosen her grip.
anyone have any clues as to how i can stop her? she doesnt just chew certain spots, she will chew anywhere so i cant really put vinegar down because i would have to put it everywhere as 75% of the house is carpet.
also she isnt spayed yet (i think, taking her to the vet next week to get it done if it hasnt been already (got her from an adoption place)) and i read that this will usually calm them down and they wont chew on stuff like that as much if you give them something else to chew on.
oh yeah almost forgot, i do put down her shirt, a cylinder of wood and her throw toy carrot when shes in the hallway, so she doesnt have a lack of something to chew on.
thanks for your help!
