about 2 months ago we got our first bunny, a mini rex, and about a month later we got another mini rex and two holland lops. they were doing fine the first day we put them together but recently we have discovered what appears to be bite hole marks on our first rabbit and a little on the female lop. we don\'t know if they could be attacking each other or if the other two rabbits are attakcing them, but the weird thing is that we have never found them fighting with each other at all. if anyone knows what we should do please let us know.
Are your rabbits spayed and neutered? How many males and females are there? You aren\'t watching them 24 hrs a day....so fighting amongst them is still very likely or is it possible that the bites are from a preditor?
Hi there with my rabbits i have seen that and spoken to the vet he said it can be put down to if the rabbit is in season then they can fight or it may be a predator.

My female bun was about 6 months old when I tried to bring in a baby rabbit for a companion for her. Well, she wanted nothing to do with that, and she chased and nipped the baby so that I had to return the baby to the original owner. So now she has a parakeet for a companion, and they get along fine. I\'ve heard that rabbits are very territorial and it\'s difficult to introduce a new rabbit to the existing one, however they will accept other critters like hamsters, guinea pigs, etc.
I\'ve had a few situations that relate to this to share with you. We had two guinea pigs for several years. When the female died suddenly, we got a small rabbit o keep the guinea pig company. The rabbit would stand on her hind legs and \"box\" at the gunea pig. We found the rabbit a new home rather quickly. That was over 15 years ago.
Then there\'s our Midnight. Midnight spent the winter inside while her sister stayed out in the barn. We thought we would let them play togther one afternoon and brought Stormy inside. After only two months of being apart, Midnight chased poor Stormy around, thumped and bit her several times. Needless to say, Stormy went back out to the barn. A few weeks later my son got new bunnies. We tried to introduce them to Midnight with the same result as Stormy. The bunnies were too small to go out in the cold, so their cage was put near Midnight\'s. In less than a week we were letting them all out to play at the same time for short periods. It\'s now two months later and they all play together for extended periods a couple times aweek. I think the key is to keep the living quarters seperate but close enough that theycan sense each other, and only share the play area.
Sorry this is so long and I hope it helps.
What do you mean by \"bite hole marks\"? Its a little early in the year for this and your rabbits may be inside, but Cutereba flys lay larve in animals and if the larvae hatches and flies off it leaves a \"hole\" in the rabbit--i\'ve had it happen twice. I\'m fairly sure this isn\'t your problem tho!
