I have been a member of this group before, but have been unsubscribed for a while.I hope that someone can help me with my

question. I have three neutered males, 2 brothers and another boy the same age. They have all lived together since they were

8 weeks old and they were all neutered at 3 months of age. They all get on well, but one of them is obviously the boss, but

in a harmless way. They are now 16 months old.
Now...I have fallen in love with a female that has been used for breeding. She is only just under a year old, but has had a

few litters already. She is nursing a litter of 5 at the moment. The owner is giving up the rabbit breeding and has offered

me this female when her babies are weaned. I really want to give her a good home, but haven\'t got much more space for an

extra rabbit, unless she was to be mixed with my males... What I would like to know is, would it be impossible? Would the

males start fighting? I would obviously have her spayed first, but would it work at all? Do you have any experience in this

at all or know of anyone that has?? If it is impossible, then I will have to \'forget\' about having her, but if there is any

chance to get her to live with my neutered boys, then I am happy to work to make it work!!!

Please, could you reply to me directly?
there not much need to spay a rabbit that stuff should be for dogs and cats and could like lets see mabey buy a cage is that what u call it. smartin up newbie
I think that maybe thats why she\'s here -to smarten up. I have had rabbits for 30 years and by no means know everything about them either. I enjoy reading others posts and learning something new.
I thought we were here to give our friends ideas and suggestions. Smile
Let us remember this is a friendly place to post messages not a place to be rude. It is good to ask questions before you go and do something you may later regret. Tony
First, for Keaka_gordon...

Yes, it can work. You just need to realize that rabbits are individuals and are also territorial, so...there could be some bickering, but your neutered males should warm up to the newcomer. By all means, get the doe spayed. The absence of hormones will make her more pliable to a community living arrangement. When introducing the rabbits, watch them carefully. If you see signs of undo agressive behavior, separate them. Also, the size of the cage is important. Overcrowding can lead to fighting and unhealthful living conditions.

Good luck. Smile

Now for cmrrb...

Spaying applies as much to rabbits as it does to dogs and cats. I don\'t spay my rabbits, but I breed and show. Rabbits kept for pets only actually SHOULD be neutered. They will be healthier, live longer, and be much better pets.
