Most rabbits are not very fond of being picked up. Make sure you always support their entire bodies when you pick them up and hold them in a secure manner so that they feel safe. One way to get started is with the football hold. Hold them securely by the body with their heads tucked under your arm to block their vision. For some reason, most rabbits feel very secure this way - it is the way you will see people carrying their rabbits at rabbit shows. The more you handle your rabbit, the more they will come to accept it as just another aspect of their lives.
