This morning I wake up take my shower as usual and say hello to my little baby afterwords before I come to work. Anyways I come out into the living room and what do I see? Bailey got out of her playpen and was wondering around the whole time. She came to me when I called her and I put her back in her pen, I was already running late for work but I needed to make sure I knew how she was escaping before I could leave. So I sat and watched, very soon after she started clawing at the point where the pen connects and sure enough it popped open. I found some clamps and twist ties to tie it closed to the point where I couldnt even get it open LOL, anyways I will look tonight at the maker of it so I can let anyone who may have a similar set up know that theres to may be defective. Anyways, wheeeeew was I scared when I saw that she was out because there are places she can get to that are not bun safe. Before everyone gets mad at me this will be resolved tonight but she is never left unattended...ever when she gets to come out and play but now that I see how smart she is I will be changing some stuff tonight. Just thought I would give a heads up about the play pen.
BD- Lol...as you found out bunnies can be mischeiviously little buggers and you have an exceptionally bright one too! Look out! Is the pen her home? Meaning she doesn\'t have a cage? My bunnies jumped the pen in their adolescence so you may have to be careful of that also. My friend\'s bunny tried to jumped the pen once and got her rear foot stuck in an opening and was hanging upside for a few hours. She was very fortunate to only sustain a sprain. Good luck with bunny proofing!
Thanks for the tip, I didnt know if they could jump that high or not. And bailey has shown some very clear signs of intelligents so I will definatley be on my toes. I will keep you updated.
bunnies can jump VERY high... we have a dwarf rabbit and she can jump up to the 4th book shelf up, she also jumps over the tops of storage bins into the bins if the lid is not on them (the tall deep ones) and she jumps onto the couch from the floor all the time..those hind legs have springs like tigger... she will jump over the edge of the playpen once she figures out she can

if you home is not rabbit safe i would suggest a cage...playpen wont keep her safe long
