Hi can any one help? We have a dwarf who is very outgoing and high spirited. Suddenly today out of no where she has gone into a panic. She was tearing around the room running into walls and now she is huddle underneath my desk thumping her legs. We called the vet but they said leave her alone for a few hours. It\'s been about an hour and I can still hear her thumping her legs. Can anyone help or explain what might cause this behavior?

Thanks,

Jeremy
I dont know what your rabbits is doing but my bunny last night while setting on my lap all of a sudden just froze staring off into no where. To be honest she scared the holy crap outa me. I let her go up on the couch and she bolted running around similar to the way you describe, what I did was I picked her up and put her back on her pillow on my lap and just stroked her really slow and talked really calm to her and she in turned layed down as she usually does and cooled off and was fine. One thing I notice is that my rabbit \"Bailey\" likes to kind of nuzzle her head under my hand and lick my hand. I think this is a security blanket in a way for her and also when I hold her on my chest and just gently rub the sides of her face with my thumb, she seems to like that. Maybe you rabbitis just having some sort of panic attack, and needs reasure that everything is o.k. Let me know how she is.
Jeremy,
You bunny is frightened about something. Thumping her feet is a signal in the rabbit world that there is danger or something that they are unsure of. Did a loud or unfamiliar noise occur, an unfamiliar odor? The noise from my next door neighbor\'s tv causes my dwarf to do this too, but usually only for a few minutes until I come in the room to reassure him. Have you tried putting her back in her cage to calm her down?
Thanks to everyone that replied. She finally calmed down. Earlier today she wouldn\'t let me near her. I was finally able to get her in her cage and put her in her hide away. She mellow out within a few minutes. I went to work came back 6 hours later and she seems to be back to her playful self. I just wish I knew what frightened her so badly. She usually seems fearless not skittish at all. I often compare to a dog to friends
Anyway thanks again

Jeremy
Did you change something in the room?
There are times when I can\'t think of a thing that startles Petey, but then again, since he is a prey animal, I think they naturally \"listen\" for things that I don\'t hear either.

When he gets like this, we just kind of talk to him but let him have his \"space\" under the bed. He comes around eventually.

Does anyone\'s rabbit hate it when you wear shoes in the room? Petey hates it when anyone comes in the room with shoes. Weird.
