Treats for rabbit should be fresh veggies and fruit. The yogart treats and stuff like that are like giving chocolate to a baby. It tastes really good but you shouldn\'t eat it all the time because it isn\'t good for you. I\'ll look up just which fruits and veggies are the best for a bunny and get back to you. Have a great day!! Lisa

Rabbits like to eat bark from tree branches. Cut some sticks from an unsprayed fruit tree or maple tree, lialic or willow tree. Stay away from Cedar trees. Twigs and branches will help to keep your rabbit\'s teeth in good condition. Give your rabbit plenty of hay. Some rabbits are very territorial and will attack to defend their territory or their food. Spaying and neutering often help to lessen the problem.

My Kids LOVE those yogart treats more than any of the animals we have had, from Degus, guinea pig, hamsters and bunny....(and they have less sugar in them than treats for kids...lol...)

That is so funny! My little one loves to eat the yogart treats too but the piggy and the bunny won\'t eat them! (That\'s ok I guess it is better for my daughter than the bunny and piggy! LOL) LISA

I was just thinking back to the original post about making treats...you could probly try to find a recipe for dog biscuits and adapt it...but I have a recipe for some cookies I used to make just for my bunny(not to give every day though)
we have a tea specialty place here and when they serve their tea they always serve one of these thin tea cookies with it. I think if you use a fruit flavored herbal tea(or roiybos no cafeine) they should be fine for the bunny...my old rabbit used to Love cranberry...you have to be able to find somewhere where you can buy the loose leaf tea though, here is the recipe.
Tea cookies
3/4 cup butter or margerine
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 3/4 cup flour
2 Tablespoons loose leaf tea
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 pinch of salt
(I make mine with ground tea but you could leave it as it comes for bunny, I just don\'t like getting bits of tea in my teeth)
cream butter and sugar
beat in eggs and vanilla
mix dry in a separate bowl.
add dry to wet gradually
mix to form soft dough.
Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.
Roll thin and cut with a cookie cutter
(or you can hand roll them into small balls roll them in sugar and flatten with a fork, but don\'t roll them in the sugar if they are for bunny)
Bake on ungreased sheet 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
(if you roll them try using parchment paper under them, or rolling them right onto the cookie sheet you will use for baking, I find mine tend to fall apart otherwise which is why I just roll them into balls)
Also like I said if it is for bunny try the fruit herbal teas or the roiybos teas(the roiybos also have lots of anti oxidents in them which is good) because they don\'t have caffeine in them, personally I usually use a vanilla cream tea and I always add a bit more vanilla, but you will find out how fast they disapear when you make them for people as well as bunnies.
Hope this helps. it is a good recipe and it makes over 60 cookies so the amount of sugar per cookie is pretty low my husband is diabetic and he can eat these cookies(as long as I don\'t roll them in sugar...lol)

I agree that you should not feed your bunnies commercialized treats. I can cite many authorities on why not, but let\'s just keep it simple and say that as their \"Mom\" it is my responsiblity to assure their health and that they are fed a few organic fruits or very specific berries that are better for them. That they like as much, if not better.
