Hello...I am a first time rabbit owner. My bunny is named Toby and he is a beautiful Rex/Lion-headed rabbit mix with a gorgeous calico colored coat. As you could probably tell from my description, I love my Toby very much.
He is coming upon five months old and has been acting very oddly lately. He will occassionally get into a dark mood where he will make angry squawking noises at people and where he will not want to hop out of his cage and play. When he was in one of those moods, my roommate held Toby\'s favorite toy in front of my bunny\'s face and Toby smacked it out of his hand with his paw and squawked at him. So I am wondering whether it is just him hitting puberty? I know male rabbits need to be fixed at six months. Should I be worried about Toby\'s current rabbittude?
Also I have had him since he was a month old and he has always done another behavior that I worried about. He\'ll hop onto a blanket and bunch it up under himself by digging at it and jerking at it with his teeth...then he\'ll smooth the blanket out again...he\'ll keep on doing this till he gets bored. What the heck is he doing?
