I have a baby lop that I think may be a holland lop. However, I was told she is a mini. Will I have to wait until she\'s full grown to know- or can you tell by the ears?
She\'s approx. 10 wks. old and her ears are cheek length and somewhat wide.
Any help would be appreciated. I am \"new\" to bunnies again. I owned one once as a child about 11 years ago, and just recently purchased my 2 new babies.
Look at some pictures of Holland Lops and Mini Lops, Hollands should have a high head mount(as you can tell in Holland Lop pictures) and generally have blockier, wider heads and shorter ears than Mini Lops. Mini Lops have a maximum weight of 6 1/2 lbs for does and Holland Lops have a maximum of I believe 3 3/4 lbs. Holland Lops are also generally shorter in body type, though some poor Mini Lops can look like Holland Lops and vice versa.
You can tell by there ears almost always. The Mini Lops get larger than a Holland in size, but also... the Mini Lop\'s ears are longer. All of my Hollands ears go right at the chin, give or take. My Mini Lops ears go down passed there chins.
