Hi everyone my name is Lizzie and i have a rabbit thats about 5 weeks old. I bought him or her im not sure, about 6 days ago and it wasnt going poop. So i took him/her to the vet 2 days ago. The vet took something long and black out of its butt. she gave me info on what to feed it. Said to feed him/her alfaalfa and other nutri. vegies. So i went to the nearest petco and bought what she said, the alfaalfa is it too hard for him/her to eat so i also break the pelets. so first of all im unsure of what it eats and if it eats. she also said not to feed it lettuse because it doesnt have as many vitamins and stuff for a baby rabbit. but i put it in the its house anyway which it seems to only eat that sometimes. and i hadnt seen it take a poop until this morning i found some rock looking black tiny tiny tiny things on its blanky i picked them up and squeezed them. they are like rocks they dont break or anything. they are black. is that normal? oh and i also feed it goats milk 3 times a day. also yesterday it started kinda like with hickups it lasted about 1 min doing that. it did it twice yesterday and once today except today it whimpered when it did it. is that normal? or should i take it back to the vets? please help
Lizzie- Please take it back to the vet right away!!
Take it to the vet!!
seems like normal poop to me... its usually black/dark brown and very hard or sometimes less hard. depends on what they eat. my rabbit likes carrot but it loves spinach. ive never heard of rabbits drinking goat milk but ours was 3mnts when we got him... but yeah i\'d say go to the vet anyway...
My son\'s 4-H leader feeds her baby bunnies goats milk if the mom isn\'t feeding them enough. She said it has more of what a baby needs than kitten replacement.
