Hi:
We just got a young dwarf rabbit. The rabbit looks happy, but he has diarrhea. When I cleaned the area, I noticed an opening and I could see membrane. I'm very worried. Is this normal?
That doesn't sound normal to me. I'd contact your vet. Make sure they treat exotics.
How is your pets appetite? If the animal is still eating is a good sign that the cause of diarrhea is a simple, easy to overcome.
that's not normal at all. diarrhea can cause death to young rabbit. in fact, most rabbits under 8 weeks old are prone to diarrhea and die because of it. thus, it's very important to buy a rabbit that's 8 weeks old and above.
if your rabbit has diarrhea, take to the vet immediately. if not, give them a lot of hay and fresh water. a small amount of boiled potato with the skins left on can help to relieve this condition
