I'm a first time bunny owner and I have a few question!

1) I have a regular cage and a traveling cage. My mom constantly takes by bunny around the house in the traveling cage so she can pet him, but not get peed on. This was great, but now, he only pees in the traveling cage! He'll hold it in all day and pee the second he gets in there! He refuses to pee in his big cage!

The being said:

2) One of the first things I bought was a litter box, because I heard that bunnies could be litterbox trained. It has a wire bottom so all of the droppings can go through. It sits in the corner of his cage. The problem is that he thinks it's his bed, so he will NOT use the bathroom on it. My solution: By him a little house so he'll sleep in that instead. WRONG! He uses the house as a toy, but always goes back to sleep on the litterbox. Is this normal?!

3) We always let my bunny out on newspapers, but he'll demolish them. He LOVES to eat paper. Is this healthy? Can it hurt him? I just don't want the ink to cause any damage.

LAST QUESTION!

4) When I first got him, the people told me to feed one handful of food and one handful of hay each day. I feed him when I wake up in the morning (around 8:30am) but by about 7:00pm, he's out of food. By around 10:00 pm, you can tell that hes starving! Am I really not supposed to feed him again until the next morning?

i can help u with the last 2 questions but even im looking an answer to the rest ya see two of my bunnies suffered from a severe stomach upset because they used to munch paper like anything and trust me i got a huge scolding for letting them do so. and about feeding feed them when ever he's hungry but make it limited i feed my bunz with a gap of 3-4 hours.

A rabbit should have unlimited amounts of hay. It is what keeps their digestive system healthy. It is full of fiber and helps to prevent hairballs. My rabbits live in hay that I get from a farm. Timothy hay is best, but other grass hay is almost as good. Stay away from alfalfa hay as it is fattening. I feed both of my 6 pound rabbit 1/4 cup of pellets each, twice a day, and that seems to be just right for them.

On the litter box training, as gross as it sounds, find "litter" at your local pet store and put it in the litter box, put some of his/her poop and pee in the litter box as well. However, with a wire bottom, you need to buy a litter box with a solid bottom, if it has wire bottom so the droppings fall......might as well have a wire bottom cage.
