Hi everyone, I just got my male Holland Lop neutered yesterday and I was hoping that yall could help me out with a few questions about it. First of all, he is acting like his old self and running around already and it has only been one day, is that normal? I figured he would at least act like he was sore. Also I was under the impression that after he was neutered he would no longer have the urge to hump and yet he is already doing that as well. If anyone could clear that up I would be grateful!
How old is your Holland? The older a rabbit is when neutered, the more likely certain sexual behaviors may continue. In animals, mounting behavior is also a way of expressing dominance. Your rabbit may feel the need to reestablish his territory after his trip to the vet.

Animals recover from surgeries MUCH faster than do people. They don\'t dwell on if they\'re hurting or not. Their tolerance for pain is significantly higher. Your rabbit is normal. Smile

Thanks so much for your reply. He\'s 5 months old. I was also reading last night that the behavior can continue for a while until their hormones die down, supposedly it can take a little while, and they can also still impregnate a female during this time.
