i have a litter of harlequins that i want to be able to show when they are 2 months old so i need to get them to gain weight quickly and so i was wondering is it better for babies to stay with there mom for 6 weeks or get them started on food as young as 4 weeks i have had this work before but i was wondering which method would work best i need them to be 4 pounds by 2 months i know this is pushing it but sadly harlequins don\'t have a pre jr. class so no luck there
I opt to keep kits with the doe longer to maximize growth, but I must tell you that 2 month-old rabbits aren\'t very competitive on the show table - even if they\'re very nice. In the breeds that have them, a pre-junior class is really just for educational purposes and some breed associations are moving away from pre-junior classes altogether.

Though in the case of Harlequins, the majority of the points are on markings, traveling to a show - even a local one, is pretty stressful. 3 months is the preferred minimum age for a junior animal. My advice would to forego that show and take them to the next one.

well i think i\'m just going to take like 1 or 2 from the litter to show and the rest will be in a crate the whole time the main purpose of them being up there is so i can sell them because alot of people where interested in my doe last year they might not even make wieght so i might not even take them
