hey there,
since my baby rabbit was born, hes been fine, until the other day i noticed something by his genitals...it looked like a huge pimple - its gross i know but i was so freaked out. i got my boyfriend to look at it, and he squeezed it out - it was bigger than a pea! i don\'t know why there was this build up of whatever it is, but if you guys could help me out here - my sister in law said it might be a build up of urine that has hardened in the heat - is this true and can it happen? since we are in south africa it is very hot here. it also might be an infection. since getting it out, he seems happier and the swelling has gone down. there doesnt seem to be anything else in there. does this make him a buck? or could this happen to a doe too. he is only 3 weeks old. your imput would be much appreciated!
Pimples on genitals are not all that uncommon. They are usually caused by bacteria gaining entrance from a tiny abrasion in the skin. Your boyfriend did the right thing by popping it. Apply antibiotic ointment. If it returns, you may need veterinary assistance as it could be something else. You should be able to tell in a week or two whether you baby bunny is a buck or doe. Smile
