hi everyone, i\'m new. i searched on google to find this website.

i am concerned because my new baby bunny, yuki, sometimes has red urine. i just got her two days ago from the pet store by my house. i have another baby rabbit, bonbon, who has regular colored urine. they are both eating the same things, but yuki\'s urine is sometimes red. however, i noticed that it is not red all the time. i read online a little that it may not be blood (which is what i was very concerned about at first) but i am still worried.

does anyone have any advice or know what might be going on? the pet store told me she is \"between 6 weeks and two months\" but i don\'t think they really know, besides yuki is MUCH smaller than bonbon and bonbon is 6 weeks old. i am feeding them pellets and alfalfa hay.

thanks for any help in advance!
Red Urine is caused by Tannins in the feed. It is not anything to be concerned about and very normal. Smile
thank you so much! i was very worried about her for awhile there, but i found a lot of sites saying that if they are having funny colored urine, but still eating and drinking okay (which she is) then it should be nothing to worry about. it is still sometimes shocking to see it in the morning because it looks like little pools of dried blood! eek.

thanks again! =)
One of my rabbits has red urine every now and then and when I first saw it I was scared too, but she seems fine. I don\'t think it is much to worry about. Just make sure you don\'t mistake this for bloody urine.Smile
