[attachment=331][attachment=331][attachment=332]Here are some new pics of Petey and his new cage we built with NIC cubes. He has been in the new cage for about a month and very happy with the extra space. He did however get a toenail stuck but we have since trimmed up the nails really good so hopefully no more problems.

In the one pic you can see him \"tossing\" out the new hay box I made for him. I thought he\'d love it but apparently he wants nothing to do with it because he continually throws it out of the cage! I mean really throws it!

Any opinion on what breed he may be anyone? The lady we bought him from said his mother was a Florida White and his father was a Sable (she thought). I don\'t know much about breeds, but I thought Sables were large and Floridas were white! He is black with a little white nose. He is also about 5 and 1/2 pounds.
Hello! Peties friend

Peties Cage looks great but I was wondering why you put a bottom in it? Do you move it around alot because it would be alot better on his feet with out the bottom panels.

It does look Great Though! Good Job! Big Grin Big Grin
Tx Mike. Actually there is no bottom to the cage, we just put little carpet mats down for him to sit on. The whole cage itself sits on a larger mat to protect the carpet, but inside the cage there are two 2\' by 2\' carpet mats for him.

One question I did have about the cubes was this: The NIC kit came with those little connectors which we did not use because they didn\'t seem very sturdy, so we just used nylon wraps instead. Do those connectors keep the cage wires spaced a little better so nails don\'t get stuck maybe? Just wondering. Thanks for the tips.
I like the home that you made for Petie. I\'m sure that Petie loves it too! I don\'t know what the breed would be because it doesn\'t look like the ones that I\'m familiar with. Too bad that Petie couldn\'t talk and tell you what the breed is!Wink
Yes! Peties friend

We used both in ours because a lady I know that just used the ties come home fromwork one day to find a colapsed cage and her bunnies out and they had destroded the room they were left in.

The connectors & ties make it much stronger & Strudier

Hears Pics of How we used connectors With the ties, Put one tie on all four panels at ever corner.
We made the Door by connecting 2 Panel with just ties and the door frame wiht only 2 conectors at the top of the frame!

Hi Peties Friend...the cage looks great -I wish I had enough room to do that here... but anyway...he could be half Florida white. He does have the correct body form and large ears. My New Zealand white kindled 6 babies from a mixed pappa and none were white. 4 were solid gray like their pappa and 2 were solid brown. Strange.
But there are many colors of Satins -black, blue, broken...any of those colors could run in his linage. He is a cutie pie... Smile
Glad his toe is better!
Thank you Lorelei. He is a cutie, but he is a little spoiled punk too! We love him dearly...

Like I said, I don\'t know a thing about breeds, but he just seemed too small to be a Sable/Florida mix, I don\'t know. It doesn\'t matter, cuz to me he\'s just part of the family.Smile

Happy Holidays!
Sables are large 7 to 9 lbs,floridas are 4 to 6 lbs.and white.mixing them together might produce a smaller rabbit.bluebird
Great job on Petie\'s home. I hope he is adjusting well to your new work schedule.
His cage is 4x bigger than what it was and he seems to be adjusting to it very well. For awhile he acted nervous, but lately, we\'ve noticed he spends most of his time in there even when the doors are open for him to come and go!

I\'m not back to work yet, but I feel a lot better about even leaving him in there when we leave the house since there\'s much more room.
