hi there,from south africa! just wanted to know if anybody knew what type of breed my rabbit is. unfortunately i cant put up a photo but i can try and describe her. she is a shiny black colour with one white paw. she is roughly 40cm long (stretched out) and her ears are about 6cm long. she is 8 months old, so don\'t know if she will grow any bigger! thanks.

Just curious, Why can\'t you post a Picture?
With somewhere around 140 different Breeds of Rabbits it\'s almost impossible to tell what type of Bunny of have from just your discription.
Do her ears flop(hang down) or stand straight up?,how much does your bun Weigh?, how tall is she when standing on all four feet at the shoulders?,is her head round like a baseball or is it elongated,with her nose sort of pointed?,is her fur short napped or long and fuzzy? and how big around is her body? if you can tell us these few things and any more you can think of we\'ll try to help.
Give me time while I find a conversion chart to figure cm\'s to inches and I\'ll see if I can help!

hi there, i know it is difficult to tell - i cant put up a pic because the kb are too big. she has ears that stand up and her head is quite elongated. she is about a ruler long when standing up straight. her hair is short napped and very shiny. all and all, she is quite a small rabbit.
just been on that site that you recommended - thank you so much - she is either a Havana or American. she may be mixed - south africans dont take rabbit shows seriously and the buns all look the same in petshops, unfortunetly. thanks for your help, will try post a pic on the web.

I looked at the Americans & Havana and the American is bigger(11lbs) then what you described and the Havana(5-6lbs) has longer ears then 6cm more like 12-15cm.
So I thought I\'d show you a picture and see if maybe this is like your Bunny, this is a Netherland Dwarf and their ears are about 6cm (2.3in.) or just a tiny bit longer and would fit the 40cm(15in.) or a little less when streached fully out and they only weigh about 2-3lbs.

nope! that aint her! she is probably some mixed breed! we did get her from a local petshop up the road. will carry on trying to send a photo!
