Our Doe, Hannah, had a live kit last night before we went to bed. This morning I went out to check on her, and there were no more, and that one was dead. She is a mini-lop. She has had litters before according to the breeder we got her from. Is it possible she may have more today? I saw somewhere that someone had posted that they can go a day between births. Is that true? Yesterday was her true kindling date. Please help! We are confused!
You said you went out to check on her? Is she warm enough in the coop -not knowing your location some areas are getting mighty cold about now. Dis she create a solid nest for kindling?
I would leave her alone -remove the dead kit and I would leave her alone for 24 hours and see. My dwarf hotot had a similiar problem -gave birth to 3 still born and after I put her in the barn the following day she had one more -stillborn as well.
How old is your girl? How long have you had her before you bred her? Sometimes they have to adust to their new surroundings.
If she doesn\'t kindle anymore -breed her right away. And I would also call the breeder and tell him of your concerns.

Good luck.
I removed the dead kit. She is plenty warm enough, they are housed in our garage, and she has a great nest box. She pulled fur on Friday. We have had her for about 2 1/2 months. She is barely 2 years old. The kit was alive last night before I went to bed. It does not look like she chewed on it or anything. I have e-mailed my breeder. Is it possible she will have more today?
It is possible that your doe will have more kits, but my guess is not. She is almost 2 and so now is on the downhill side of her reproductive life. I would palpate her to see if you can feel any unborn kits inside. Retained fetuses mean permanent sterility.
Like Lorelei said, if your doe is healthy, I would rebreed her right away as conception is high shortly after parturition. If this happens again and your goal is to breed purebred Mini Lops, I recommend getting a younger doe.

and just to let you know it is very much possible for a doe to have a kit one day and have more later my doe did that she had one and then 2 days later had 5 kits just watch her and see if she looks uncompterbal and if all fails just take her to the vet and get an x-ray
