We just recieved this pet rabbit last Christmas. Everytime I try to pick up my rabbit he runs away. How do I pick him up with out him running away from me? If any one has suggestion please tell me.
[font=Arial][size=2][color=purple]you have to get the rabbit to know you. just start by holding your hand near your rabbit. Rabbits recognize a person by the sound of his/her voice and how he/she smells. after your rabbit knows you, your rabbit will let you pick him up.

I hope so. I have been doing that for awhile now but have not tried to pick him up for a while now.
I know this is a late post but I used to have this problem. Since I joined 4-H, I know how to handle rabbits. What I do is I get ahold of their ears and scruff then I support their back legs and pick them up, still holding their ears/scruff. Take note that I am not picking them up by their ears - I\'m just holding their ears and scruff to make the rabbit feel secure. Then for carrying, if it\'s a nervous rabbit, easily startled then I will put its head between my arms and its body weight resting on my arm then my free hand will be holding the scruff of the rabbit so it will feel secure. It really works. Hope this was detailed enough to help you. Of course, another good way is trust. Gotta earn that rabbit\'s trust too.
