I was just wondering if anyone could suggest the best wood chip to provide as bedding for my Holland Lop. I have heard that pine can cause liver damage and that cedar is a little too aromatic. Right now i\'m using carefresh bedding, but he doesn\'t seem to like it so that\'s why i\'m looking into the wood. Thanks so much!

A lot of people use Hay,straw or shredded News Paper but A whole lot of People recomend
http://www.woodypet.com/ Click on the Horse bedding link, It\'s sold at PetsMart and other major pet stores. I definately know that no evergreen (Pine) is good for rabbits.
Hope this Helps!

I don\'t like to waste my hay for the rabbits bedding. They get a fair share to eat but I use straw for the inside of their coops. Especially now....brrrrr!
The smaller rabbits inside the barn I put the bedding in the tray and straw in their cage. The bedding is more absorbant that just newspaper alone. In winter I can\'t change them as often as I do in the warmer months. The bedding stays longer and I don\'t find an odor.

I don\'t like newspaper because the ink is very hard to get of white show rabbits! LOL
I\'ve heard that all wood-chip products are not healthy to use in with the rabbits. I use some paper pelet thing that sorta looks a little like rabbit food pelets. I use it in my rabbits litter box. She also has a pan under her cage and I put wood in that. I figure as long as she isn\'t too close to the wood, she\'s fine.
I have been using Aspen and I like it a lot.
