I\'m pretty new here but from everything I\'ve read over the last 4 months, I think your Bunny should be getting free choice hey for the roughage it provides and to keep their system functioning properly! Is it\'s poop solid round droppings or is it a bit soft to runny? If it\'s not firm round droppings then limit any green veggies you may be feeding her(him) and provide a good quality pellet feed with just a pinch of old fashioned oatmeal and hey everyday!
If I\'m wrong someone please step in and correct me.
Charlcie will hopefully chime in hear and advise you on the best action to take,she\'s the most knowledgable person on the W.W.W as far as Rabbit\'s go and lots more.
P.S have you been worming?

Hope I\'m not way off Base! Rolleyes
What does his feces look like? Is it solid, runny? You said it tested neg. -what was he tested for, worms? Rabbits can get certain types of worms but you need to know which one for it to be treated properly.
The info that Mike gave on feeding is great if it is in fact just a nutrition problem. You didn\'t say if he is eating at all? You said it\'s available -but is his eating? Drinking? You can add pedialyte to his water -he may be dehydrated. You can also have him checked by a small animal vet if your Mom isn\'t sure -have you had his teeth checked? Can he eat properly? There are many different factors if a rabbit is too skinny -not just the obvious that he is not eating. If he is eating and not putting on weight is his stomach blocked? Could have bladder problems? Do you have litter in his cage -can he be eating the litter and getting sick?
On the otherhand, harlequins are a sleeker smaller breed. A junior buck is only 7 pounds (minimum weight is about 4) and a back bone should be felt slightly.
Just my thoughts...Smile maybe your mom would give him a follow up for you or knows another vet? Smile Hope the little bugger gains alittle weight fer ya.
well hes not to skinny and he weighs 7 1/2 pounds his poop is solid and he just recently got de wormed with ivermection and i went ahead and dewormed him agian last night. it might just be his breed he eats his food and cleaned his pan of food today so i don\'t know why hes skinny his sister doesnt feel any bit skinny but he does and both get the same amount of food
he gets hay some times about twice a week
Hi there. Your bunny should have fresh hay available 24/7.
Rabbits can be so different...I have one little netherland dwarf (Lorelei) who never finishes her food. There is always a bunch left and she is a good solid weight.
If he\'s 7.5 I\'m not sure why you\'d think he\'s skinny. If its only by comparison to his sister maybe she\'s a little piglet. Some eat more than others. Is he eating his food and not dumping the pan? That can be a problem, as well. A good solid crock dish will make it impossible to dump and you can keep an eye better on how much he eats.
I wouldn\'t keep worming him though. I think that can throw off their natural balance. Twice is plenty -if I\'m not misaken.
yea he gave me a scare last week he stopped eating completly when i tried to switch him to show feed but he is now back on feed and getting yogurt every day any one know how much he should get
