Ok! Hello everyone,I just found this site and so I\'m gonna just jump right in.
No lurkin around hear, Big Grin Oh! and it\'s Nice to meet Y\'all!

I\'ve got 2 young daughters ages 10 & 12 that are \"just Dying\"
to get their own Rabbits. We just sold our Horses of 4 years and they need \"replacement pets\" because they\'re sooo sad. Oh! the Drama of little girls.
Anyway they would like- Netherland Dwarf\'s(my fav.), Holland Lop\'s or the Mini Lop.
They eventually want to breed what ever we choose but that\'ll be awhile.
We live in the country have lots of room on 10acres but stray dogs run thru now and then so the rabbits will be kept in hutches on our back deck 16ft.x36ft., under a large patio cover 12ft. x 22ft. and behind gates were predators (Dogs) can\'t get to them.

My girls are purty responsible,they\'ve helped muck stalls (well spread hey) feed and bath our horses since my oldest was 8.
Does Anyone know of any breeders here in Texas, somewhere near north Houston?
We\'re are willing to travel and pay the going rate for Quality and the breed they we choose or can find,... That is.

Any special advice on these breeds of rabbits or for young ladies and (Wife) with their first rabbits? Smile
We have owned rabbits before, that were just pets (Breed not known) but girls were just babies then.

They\'ve taken it upon them selfs and started reading up on these breeds about a month ago, so they can be prepared! We won\'t be buying till the New Year.

Please excuse any misspelling as I do live in the deep woods of Texas. Big Grin

Any advice would Truely be Appreciated!

Thank You All!
Mike,
Have you tried the ANDRC? That is the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club. If you go to the website for them it may be able to lead you to where you need to go to find some in your area? They are a great club. You would be Region 8 with them. Also try the ARBA they have alot of information and sites you can link to where you may find someone close to you? I would help you but we live in Indiana and that is a ways away from you. Good luck. Tony Artist, Artist Rabbitry
Hi Mike.

If you don\'t mind driving about 4.5 hours, The American Rabbit Breeders Association is holding their annual Convention and Show in Fort Worth, TX (Fort Worth Convention Center). The show starts Sunday (Oct. 29) and runs through Thursday (Nov 2).

There will be breeders with some very fine rabbits for sale there and a chance for you and your girls to see the country\'s largest rabbit show in the country. There will also be lots of vendors of rabbit equipment and supplies. I highly recommend the trip if you can make it.

For further information, visit the ARBA Convention Website: http://www.scootyourboots.com

That sounds like a great trip, and I love to drive. Have to check with the wife about here schedule,she\'s a professional Photographer and is very busy this time of year. I know the girls and I might just have to go with out her. Big Grin I know we\'d have a great time.

Thanks Again!
I raise Netherland dwarfs and you might get some good rabbits at the convention but expect the prices there too be very high.bluebird
